Don't sweat it if Tennessee loses early in the SEC tourney

Historically, the Tennessee Volunteers have not done well in the SEC tournament. In past years, that would have been something to worry about, but this year's success guarantees the Vols will be a very high seed in the NCAA tournament.

Even with a loss on Friday, we should be a number one seed. However, it wouldn't entirely surprise me if we are not. I think there are five teams competing for the four number one seeds in the tournament: Tennessee, Memphis, North Carolina, UCLA, and Kansas.

However, we have played the third toughest schedule in the country but have remained near the top of the polls all year. In comparison, Kansas' schedule is ranked around number 80.

So, there is no need to be on pins and needles in the SEC tourney. If the NCAA selection committee does its job, we will be a number one seed.

Well neither UNC nor Memphis has played a tougher schedule. I still can't fathom the rankings, but then I don't pretend to understand the system.

Just so long as Tenn. don't get bounced by Ole Miss and that guy with the Mickey Mouse hairdo. (Know who I'm talking about? The guy whose dreds are pulled up into two big round wads o' hair!)

Tenn 89 South Carolina 87. Since this was an afternoon game, I couldn't watch it; I could only follow it on the internet. It was agony...fortunately it turned out to be splendid agony.

The Vols better play better defense than they did yesterday. If not, they wont win the tourney.

Ark 92 Tenn 91. Anonymous made a good point. Tennessee didn't play a lick of defense in their two games.

However, each time UT lost this year, they came back strong. Let's hope that continues into the NCAA tourney.

Also, kudos to Georgia for winning the SEC tourney. Who saw that coming?
