"Waterfront" ... one of my all-time favorite films.
Remember when all those folks sat on their hands when Elia Kazan was honored during the Oscars awards?
If'n I'd been there, some drugged-out/ignorant asses would've gotten their asses kicked, and then some ...
Lot of Hollywood folks never forgave Kazan. Kazan wrote this about how he felt on Oscar night when the film won a ton of awards: "I was tasting vengeance that night and enjoying it. 'On the Waterfront' is my own story; every day I worked on that film, I was telling the world where I stood and my critics to go and **** themselves."
