If a person needed more evidence proving that Tennessee contains great men's college basketball, all he would have to do is look at the number of schools the state is sending to the NCAA tournament.
Over the weekend, both Belmont and Austin Peay earned berths in the tourney by winning their conference tournaments. Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Memphis are guaranteed to make the big dance so that means five schools from the Volunteer state will play deep into March.
If there is a state that will be sending that many, I am unaware of it.
Too bad the big boys at ESPN don't recognize this.

I had to work on Sunday. Drivin' in, 'bout 8 a.m., I was listening to Sporting News radio. The dude who was on the air was speakin' 'bout Tennessee's NCAA tourney teams. He said what you've said: Tain't a state sending as many teams to The Dance as Tennessee.
Go Vols (and Bruins, and Govs, and Dores, and Cats) ...
We almost had a sixth team make the tournament, but Middle Tennessee State lost to Western Kentucky in the Sun Belt tournament championship. Too bad, but Middle played very well in the tourney.
